I just finished upgrading my prusa mk2s to mk2. Help greatly appreciated. I rolled back to 3. I was on 3. Last night OctoPrint refused to connect. Was seeing an attempt to connect via the terminal, initial response and then timeout. Downgraded to 3. Ironically I had issues with the filament sensor at 3. Leaving filament sensor disabled. I just performed the Mk2 to Mk2. My settings were as before the upgrade with a baud rate of This time it worked and Octopi is talking to my Mk2.
It still appears to connect at after the auto detect, but there is just enough different about the sequence of events that keeps it from the initial timeout. I have never had any connection issues until upgrading to octoprint 1. After upgrading I was unable to connect, receiving a baudrate error every attempt. I flashed to the most recent firmware and tried setting the baudrate manually to with no success.
I saw the post about turning the filament sensor on and figured I would try it since nothing else was working I have no idea why disabling the filament sensor would prevent octoprint from connecting but perhaps the Prusa team should look into this. I have had little success with printing with the sensor on which basically means that I can't use octoprint This is still an issue with the latest Prusa Firmware. I've been investigating this problem, and figured out the reason why octoprint fails on first connection.
With the current Prusa firmware v3. It then runs through its' setup routine. You will see the following:. The setup routine ends there. OctoPrint will then timeout. I'm not entirely sure why it manages to connect when manually doing so a second time.
Use the Auto baud rate workaround. However, it will fail if you compile your own firmware for custom baudrates. Essentially, make the printer reply 'ok' at the end of the setup routine. It's probably undesirable, because it isn't truly acknowledging a command.
However, it seems safe, since most programs e. OctoPrint are sensible enough not to send multiple Gcodes on printer initialisation. The vanishing 2019

Octoprint is a software used for remote managing and monitoring of your printer. You can even add a webcamera and Watch your printing Progress.
I'll be adding the Raspberry pi camera, which in its 1. You are going to use some nerdy software things, like the terminal software puttyand you are going to edit some files in a Linux based environment, but I'll take it step by step, and explain what you are doing. You can head over to Octoprints offical pageand hit the Download button. Here it gets a Little confusing, but click on the name Guy Shefferwhich will take you to a new page.

Under Popular repositories you click on OctoPiwhich takes you to a GitHub page with a lot of stuff on it. Official mirror is here Alternative mirror is here Nightly builds are avilable here. We are going to use the newest file found under Official mirros.
There has been made some huge improvements in the Nightly build, which I had hope to take advantage off, but the latest version didn't like my wifi-dongle. So, go to the Official mirror to get the newest file. Now you are located on a site with a few files listed. Downloaded the one. It is around 1gb large and the download speed was rather slow for me, so it took around half an hour!
Downloaded Putty is also a bit confusing. Once again, we end up on a rather confusing page. I take it you sit on a Windows computer, so scroll Down and find the " For Windows on Intel x86 " line. Right below that line, you will find what we need:. Click the putty. It might take a bit from you click, to you actually get the download dialog pop-up.
Go to the Win32 Disk Imager pageand click the Download area. This will get you to a new page, and the download should start shortly after.
Go to Angry IP Scanner download area. Under "Image File" is a blank Square. Click the folder icon NeXT to it and navigate to your extracted Octoprint file. Select it. Under Device in Win32 Disk Imager, you make certain the correct drive is selected. Also insert any usb wi-fi module you would like to use. If you want to use Wi-fi you need to connect your RaspBerry to an external monitor and connect a mouse.
You might configure this using the Putty Terminal program, but that is beyond the scope of this Instructables. The boxes after "IP Range:" should be correctly populated with relevant settings for your Network, so just press the Start button. Now use the ruler to scroll Down untill you find a device named something starting with "Octopi" It is in the column named Hostname. Write Down the IP of the device, which in my case is The box under P ort should be Leave everything else as it is and click the O pen button.GitHub is home to over 50 million developers working together to host and review code, manage projects, and build software together.

The problem i'm experiencing looks like it been reported before but it didn't manifest itself in the same way so wanted to report. Currently every time I boot up my raspberry pi, it'll eventually fail to connect to touch ui and service the following error.
Initially I was able to get TouchUI to auto boot on the raspberry pi without issue and all was working well. Hi thomasdlap.

I don't know what it would take to make this work again, but I would love to see it work with the new version. I get the following screen when booting up with octoprint 1. Hey guys, I just had this and fingered it out for me at least where you see Hypercube.
Have fun, this pissed me off for 45 mins and spent too much time at work today to dig for the real fix in the config files pulled but this got my connection refused white screen gone : J. Replace back whatever you need like autologin.
The auto-updater from the UI effed that up for me too. Saw that in browser and almost threw the laptop. Had the white screen then too btw James. Thats with a cam running full time as well, if that helps any. Using the official 7" and official v2 Camera.
I would start with the Octoprint log for clues on the plugins gone wonky perhaps followed by a top command and review the output, then perhaps dig deeper into the config files loading vars for chromium. If you look at the top of the chromium. I'm by no means an expert here as I haven't read all the related code bases but if you post some outputs I know that even if I can't be of help that we have an awesome community here with lots of knowledge.
Final note-- don't give up-- even if you have to install over, you won't lose anything! I had to do it a couple versions back, luckily not this time. Shouldn't ever need to reflash the SD card with a new image. All things can be repaired. I hope that helps you some, I agree very odd the 2 different results. Hang in there bud! Thats the weird point Im working on a fresh install of 0. Running on Pi3B tho. It's not normal anyway I agree. For me the Pi4 has been very stable, I rarely have to ssh into it ever.

If not, check your cabling, Usb from the front ports! The blue cable! Ah, I see. Let me check it tomorrow since the printer is in the office. TimVthank you for the help.Feuille de papayer

I install fresh OctoPrint 0. I just want to make sure which actually I think it does not matter. That's what I also do, as I build all the parts of the OctoPrint myself.
I'll have a try later today to see if it works on an RPi3, but I see little reason why is shouldn't. Brings me back to bad cable, bad cable connection seating or 'a silly thing you forgot' like powering on the print itself, Go forward with eliminating piece-by-piece and report back. Thanks for the tips, will try tomorrow replacing the cable with all my stock, and changing the port too. Rpi3 confirmation that it works, just like as an Rpi2.
TimVwhich version of OctoPrint are you using? OK, Solved. I feel like an idiot. I don't know why, it is a mystery. Joined: Jun 29, Messages: 1 Likes Received: 0. I could not find one source that had all of the instructions to get it up and running so a made a step by step and thought I would share it here for others. Go to the bottom of the text and hit "enter" to create a blank line.
Here it is up and running. Just a quick update. I had a black border on the screen where it was not using all of the available display. You can see it in the pic above. I went in and changed the resolution settings from x to x and it looks much better.
You rock, thank you for sharing this with us less talented but very 3D interested Since I did not get the English language with the mother's milk, it can be difficult to Google all the right information so you help me make this configuration work perfectly. I appreciate you having this guide made up! I actually have the same touchscreen as you -- by chance -- and when I follow exactly, OctoScreen does not start up because it reports back that no screen is installed.
Any thoughts on how to fix it? Any idea how to add a script that will turn off the backlight after a set amount of time, then turn it back on when you touch the screen?

Problem is text doesn't stay on the screen. Any ideas? Sounds like Octoscreen is not starting up properly. I did everything through Putty and my home network, no hardware connected to the pi. Did you get Octopi up and running on the network? Octoprint should be up and running on your network before you do the Octoscreen install. You might try re-installing the touchscreen driver.
